Northfield Homestead

Northfield is a traditional homestead, built in 1914 and recently restored and renovated to create indulgent, characterful accommodation. Traditional features such as rimu wood panelled walls, deep skirting boards and lead light windows have all been retained whilst modern comforts such as a new kitchen, central heating and thick wool carpets have been added.

The house is set in 4 acres of gardens and paddocks with a beautiful outlook and peaceful feeling, and is in a great location just an easy 10 minute walk to the restaurants, bars and facilities in the centre of town.

Guests staying in the homestead have a private spacious master suite with a comfortable super-king sized bed, large wardrobe space and an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom is bright, tastefully decorated in calm neutral colours and is double aspect, gaining sun in the morning and all afternoon. It has a tv, armchairs, feature fireplace (unused) and access onto the outside balcony over looking the walnut trees and the mountains - the perfect place to relax and watch the sun go down behind the Southern Alps. 

Downstairs, you have access to a lounge with beautiful wood-panelled walls and fireplace, a sitting room and a well-stocked library. We offer complimentary Wi-Fi, Netflix for movies in the lounge, Freeview TV in the master suite, games and books to use while you are here, as well as plenty of information about local activities and venues. You can help yourself to complimentary teas, coffees, fruit and cookies at any time in the kitchen, and a delicious continental breakfast is included in the rate (no cooking facilities are provided).
